Writing IEPs, while critical to ensuring children’s success, can cause sleepless nights for many professionals.
If only there was something to help early educators discover their strengths and give them targeted support for their weaknesses….
Well, actually there is…and we call them Superpowers!
Superpowers not only make us unique, but make us effective and successful in our day-to-day interactions and work. Unfortunately, many have yet to realize their IEP Superpowers and still struggle when it comes to working as a member of an IEP team.
Here are a few examples of possibly hidden IEP Superpowers:
- ability to bring people and concepts together
- ease in finding the goal beneath the goal
- ensure access to universally designed instruction
- ability to pass information between team members
- easily identifies accommodations, modifications, and supports
- strong advocate for inclusive placement and services
So to help, we’ve created the IEP Superpowers Quiz. It is designed to help early educators discover their strengths and give them targeted support for their weaknesses (aka “kryptonite”).

The IEP Superpowers Quiz is based upon a collaboration with Mayra Porrata and our work around the Essence Glossary™. It is also a specialized version of the Superpowers Self-Assessment.

Lastly, as a ECE Solutionary member I’m sharing all four detailed reports from the quiz with you – each containing a description of associated profile strengths and challenges.
