Have you ever faced the challenge where you needed to support a preschooler, maybe one with a diagnosis of ASD, who struggles and becomes distressed when they aren’t being held?
As I travel around and talk about the #ECE {r}evolution, I’m often presented with real-life challenges that require deeper thought and reflection. And one such situation shared with me recently, was when a preschooler, particularly one with a diagnosis of ASD, struggles and becomes distressed when they aren’t being held.
The teachers, while wanting to provide what the child needs, also have the responsibility of a whole classroom, and the need to deliver quality instruction.
So in my search for answers and practical next steps, I decided to have a conversation with Barbara Avila from Synergy Autism Center.
She then posted our conversation as a Synergy Autism Center podcast episode.
