Does the following scenario sound familiar?
You’re playing with a child who has been coming to preschool for the last two years, and when you ask, “How many are there?”…the child always says…2, 3, 5, 8!
For many, this scenario is a common occurrence in preschool. Children, who despite repeated practice, continue to struggle with learning skills that many deem necessary for school success.
Listen to this week’s podcast and discover solutions for when children struggle with learning STEAM skills, and find yourself wondering, “What comes before counting?”
As you listen, notice how, at least part of the answer, often has less to do with counting (or other Math skills), and more to do with what some refer to as the “soft skills“.
P.S. Be sure to share today’s episode and freebies. They are designed to help us all better understand how counting, and other math skills, emerge. The resources also help us understand how children develop success when we support their ability to focus and demonstrate self-control.
