ECE and ECSE teams often want to know how to use the self-regulation assessment rubric to make sound decisions. This post includes my answers to how to use the rubric, when to use the rubric, and what all the data means for planning meaningful interactions and experiences for children.
There are at least three things teams need to consider when using the Self-Regulation Assessment Rubric across assessment purposes.
- Be clear about the purpose for conducting the assessment (there are six)
- The extent to which authentic assessment practices are employed
- Ways to leverage the team’s expertise to analyze and interpret results
To set the context, watch this video where I take a scored self-regulation assessment rubric, and make broad interpretations about where to begin and/or focus tiered and intentional instruction.
Listen to this audio recording on how to then engage in a data-driven decision-making framework across assessment purposes using the self-regulation assessment rubric or other formative assessment tools.
